Well I am finally getting some quiet from my day. My days are so busy lately. But that is life with kids right. Young kids and I am sure when they grow up to be tweens and teens too. It is never ending.
Lemondrop my bestest friend ever in the world asked me if I would create a blog with her. She was persistent, but hey who am I to denie my best friend ever the opportunity to blog with me. So I agreed. She set it up and orders me now to introduce myself. :))
So, a little bit about myself. Well I am the mother of two kids. I have gone through infertility issues and because of that experience I have been blessed to have gone through the opportunity of adopting my son who was a Foster Child in 2006. After trying to get pregnant for almost 10 years - using infertility treatments with no success, I finally found out on Christmas Eve of 2007 that I was pregnant. My daughter was born in August of 2008.
I am married, and we are about to celebrate our 15th Anniversary. I have done many types of crafts, and hobbies, and have had several types of jobs in my past. But I would have to say that my current job is the hardest job I have ever done. I am a full time Mommy. I do have the privilege to stay home with my children. My husband has a good paying job that allows me to be home to take care of the house and the children. Everyone seems to say it is a full time job, and I would agree with them. It has its ups and downs. But I have to say, watching my kids sleep makes up for all the hard moments we went through during the day.
I currently am Homeschooling (or rather Schooling at Home) my 6 yr old son. He has some social behavior issues and finds it difficult to participate in a public school setting. Last year I got a call from the principal every day about something he did wrong in class, and he was suspended 3 times last school year. I did attend school with him the last month and to be honest, if I was a 5-6 year old in that classroom I would have been a crazy child too. It was way to loud and busy for my taste. After weeks of debating what to do, I finally called a virtual academy and signed my son up for an online school for this school year.
He is doing great in schooling at home with me. It has been a challenge. I have screamed and wanted to pull my hair out because he is not paying attention to the lesson I am teaching him, but I do see some learning taking place. He enjoys the freedom of being home to work, and he enjoys getting the opportunity to spend more time with his Dad. I am happy to report too that even though my son is in 1st grade he was moved up to 2nd grade Literature and Comprehension. He has always been very gifted when it has come to reading.
Enough about my kids. There will be plenty of future articles about them.
How did I meet Lemondrop? I met Lemondrop in a very unusual place. An Online Network Community. We hit it off quickly, and had a lot in common. Lemondrop has lifted me up when I have gone through some dark times in my life the past two years. It seems like we have always known each other. She knows what I am thinking, what to say to me when I am down. She has encouraged me to do things I would never have done, and has picked me up when I have emotionally fallen. She is strong. She is funny. She is someone whom I want to be when I grow up. And like she has said, even though we are different in ages, we do often feel like we were separated at birth. It is hard to find a friend like that.
We have yet to meet face to face, but that does not stop us. We chat daily, and talk several times during the week. The Internet is an amazing tool. I am glad I have Lemondrop in my life. I know I am a better person because of her.
